This article describes how to print an image with correct dimensions or scale the image to fit on a specific page size, using the HTML5 Viewer.
The result of printing from the HTML5 Viewer highly depends on the browser and the printing device. The HTML5 Viewer only generates the Print Preview page. This page can be printed by the browser. Please note that printing from the HTML5 Viewer is not color accurate.
Procedure
To print an image with correct dimensions (for example: 1mm of the document is printed on 1mm of paper), follow the steps given below:
Open the document in the HTML5 Viewer.
Click Print.
Choose Image Area, specify the Resolution you want to print and check Print current view area. The resolution of the printed image still depends on the browser and on the printer used.
Click Print.... A new window containing a print preview will open. This Print Preview page only contains the image.
Go to the Print Preview of the browser. Check the compatibility table given below for your browser to see if it is possible to change the following settings:
Set the correct Paper Size. The document needs to fit on the paper or vertical parts that do not fit are lost and horizontal parts that do not fit are printed on the next page.
Check if the browser has scaled the image to fit on the page and change the scaling to 100% if needed.
If the document contains margins, change the margins in the Print Preview to 0.
To print the image and fit it on a specific page size, follow steps 1-4 as described above and add the following steps:
Check if Shrink to fit or Scale the image settings are supported by the browser.
Go to the Print Preview of the browser and try Shrink to fit. If the image is not printed on one page, change the Scaling of the image.
To get more control over printing the image, launch the JAVA Viewer by clicking the Java icon in the top right corner.
