Summary

This article is related to a very specific case at just one customer, but could happen on any ArtiosCAD and CAPE environment.

Symptoms

ArtiosCAD displays the following error after selecting Palletization > Palletize Design.

"The System Cannot Locate the object specified".

The defaults look correct and the drawing itself is working. Cape runs fine as well.

Solution

  1. Check if the CAP user does exist on your Cape software. If not read this following article:
  2. Check if Cape was installed as Workstation or Network. If it's network, you must change the defaults on ArtiosCAD:
    1. Go to Options > Defaults > Palletization > CAPE Defaults.

An incorrect modification of values and parameters in the ArtiosCAD Defaults can cause critical problems that might lead to severe problems in the correct functioning of the program. Esko cannot guarantee the proper working of your ArtiosCAD installation due to an incorrect handling of parameters and settings. A reinstall might be mandatory in order to restore the original system state. For this reason, Esko recommends that you take regular backups of the ServerLib (Shared Defaults) folder, the database and the FileStore.

Please contact your local Esko Support team in case you need more advice related to backups.
