When creating SmartMarks in i-cut Layout, you only see a very limited number of SmartMarks in the list (e.g.: the Trim mark is missing).
In i-cut Layout, when you click the Add SmartMark icon in the SmartMarks palette not all of the marks are in the list.
Check your server connection:
In i-cut Layout, in the top menu bar go to: Edit > Preferences > Server Resources and make sure Connect to Automation Engine Server is checked.
When connecting to an Automation Engine Server: There is a share permission issue for the \\AEserver\bg_data_marks_v010 folder. When the share is not accessible, the application will fall back to the local installed bonsai tree (\bg_data_signup_v010\marks_v010 folder).
To solve this problem:
Make sure the server resource shares can be accessed without problem.
If using a central shared resource is not important for customer, as a workaround, they can also switch off Connect to Automation Engine server in i-cut Layout preferences. But then make sure that on local computer, the common components (CMS, Marks etc.,) are installed, which will overrule the bonsai tree.
If this is a standalone installation or you are not connecting to a server to access shared SmartMarks, running the installer for the Common Components on the Interactive Applications DVD or ISO will solve the issue. In this case, the local resources for marks (e.g.: local drive: \Esko\bg_data_marks_v010) will be used.
To turn off the server connection:
In i-cut Layout, in the top menu bar go to: Edit > Preferences > Server Resources and make sure Connect to Automation Engine Server is unchecked.
If the SmartMarks are being used from a server, check to make sure the connection is set up and you have permissions to access the resources on the server.
