Description

Renaming the computer name on an installed Automation Engine Server will fail to run Automation Engine.

Procedure

Follow the steps given below to rename:

  1. Make a full backup in Server Admin > Backup.
  2. Make a Configuration Backup only.
  3. Deactivate the licenses.
  4. Uninstall the System Controller.

  5. Uninstall Automation Engine Server part only.

  6. Rename the Computer name and reboot.

  7. Install the System Controller.

  8. Activate the licenses.

  9. Install Automation Engine Server part.

  10. Rename the SQL Server name if local SQL Server is used, see: 

  11. Stop the Automation Engine Server.

  12. Restore Backup selecting the backup with configuration only.

  13. Adapt Upload points or Hotfolders.

Files with external references (images not in a job and ImageMarks) will still link to the old server!, see
