KB172024862: ArtPro - Colors and printing method are not applied when exporting to PDF

Summary

The colors and printing method are not applied in the document, when exported to PDF from ArtPro (also valid for AAL).

Symptoms

If you apply an Export to PDF via ArtPro, then the colors and printing method are not applied correctly in the document.

Solution

The reason for this is that by default, a PDF doesn't know the concepts of printing methods or any Esko related screening information by default. We push that information in the XMP section of the PDF.

You can save the PDF with the Include Screening option enabled or alternatively save to normalized PDF. When you view the file the generic PDF is normalized in the background and picks up the screening information from the XMP section.
