Question

Why does my Epson 4900 proofer have so much paper waste?

E.g.: I want to proof a strip of 100mm with my Epson 4900 proofer, but the paper which comes out is 210mm long. This is a waste of 110mm per sheet and this is a lot. My settings in the Proof Client are all OK.

Answer

Your Epson probably has an inline spectrophotometer installed.

This needs at least a 110mm extra of plain white paper because otherwise the sheet can not come properly out of the machine. The printed part need to be able to pass the spectro fully.

You can not change this behavior unless you remove the spectrophotometer manually. We do not recommend or support doing this.
