Holes in Re-board can either be cut with a knife or drilled. The iPC 2.0 front end should be used, but if ArtiosCAD is all that is available, then these are the fundamental steps for configuring ArtiosCAD to drill a Re-board hole.


  1. Create a Re-board design and create a hole using the cut line type.
  2. Configure a Kongsberg samplemaking output.  
    1. Output Type > Output Type must be Sample.
    2. Ensure the option in Sample Line Types > Drill holes smaller than diameter: is specified with a value. In this example, holes less than 1" diameter will be drilled. The hole in the example is 3/4".
    3. Specify a plotting style that will map sample lines types under View > Style Selection > Specify Plotting StyleIn this example, the plotting style used with the example output is  CAM.ARTIOS.GCMC.
  3. Configure the output to use a GNC driver.
  4. As the design is processed for a sample output type, the design line types are converted to sample line types. The hole added to the Re-board design will be converted to a Sample drill hole type. This conversion will become a zero-length line as the center of the drill which will penetrate the material.  
    1. To see that point in the sample preview, configure the plotting style that was specified in the sample output View tab as described below. Use a vivid color and line width for the Sample drill hole type.
    2. Specify a tool number under Attributes > Tool Number that will be used for the GNC driver.
  5. Configure the GNC driver specified in the sample output. Under Tools > Data for tool, configure the NC command for the tool number specified in the plotting style.

  6. Run the output. This is a preview. The drill hole center is within the red rectangle.
