When a 3rd party application can't export ink data to a CxF or it exports the ink data to a file format not supported by Color Engine Pilot one can use the cio file format.
Procedure
.cio is very old format, editable with WordPad. It stands for Color Input Output.
No Esko application can export ink data to a .cio file. It is intended to contain color information like LAB, spectral or RGB. It cannot contain tint and opacity data, only solid data.
If you want to import ink data via the cio file format you must manually write this file!
Attached are two sample files. One describing Lab data, and another describing spectral data.
