After upgrading WebCenter and Enterprise to version 22.07 while using a Windows Server OS older than v2019, CADX functionality does not work anymore.
The use of ArtiosCAD Enterprise versions higher than what is provided within the WebCenter ISO on the WebCenter Application server is not supported.
Symptoms
You will find the following error in the Troubleshooting Tools (keep in mind that this can also occur for other errors, this is only one symptom of this issue):
"java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 127.0.0.1; nested exception is: java.nat.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"
Also when attempting to open the Enterprise client on the Application server, you will find the following error:
" The procedure entry point GetUserDefaultGeoName could not be located in the dynamic link library..."
In the CADX logging, you will find the following error as well:
"java.lang.Exception: Unable to instantiate CAD-X COM instance (-1)"
Solution
To resolve this issue, you will need to upgrade Windows Server to v2019 or higher.
Workaround
As a workaround, install ArtiosCAD Enterprise version 22.03 (as provided in the WebCenter 22.07 iso) on the Application server.
And then migrate the 22.07 Shared defaults from a client computer.
