Context

This article describes how to apply HD Flexo screens in an ArtPro document.

Procedure

HD Flexo Screens are available on Nexus RIP as well as on FlexRip.

The minimum version of Nexus is 9.5.1. The minimum version of FlexRip is 7.5. License are needed.

HD Flexo object based screening is available only in Nexus PDF RIP and FlexRip.

In general, Nexus PDF RIP does not accept any Normalized PDF files! (images will be low-res!) Nexus PDF RIP will accept FAT Normalized PDF files (called Normalized PDF (embedded) in ArtPro), which has the hi-res images embedded.

To apply HD Flexo screens in an ArtPro document, no additional license is needed.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Go to Prepress > Screening > Screening.
  2. Click the PostScript tab and select Custom from the Dot Shape drop-down list.
  3. In the Dot code field, type the name of your HD Flexo dot shape, e.g. HD01.
  4. Apply your screening.

If you send to FlexRip:
Use the Normalized PDF (embedded) flavour to generate a PDF compatible with the FlexRip.

If you send to NexusRip:
Use the For press flavor, but switch ON:

  • Include screening
  • Generate normalized PDF

or

Use the Normalized PDF (embedded) flavor.
