After launching ArtiosCAD application, error message about the database not being found appears.

  • Unable to fetch the Board details from the Database.
  • Database Error: "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application;Unspecified error".

  • Database Error while trying to browse the Project.
  • Database Error for auto numbering.

The ODBC needs to be configured. Follow the steps given below to do this:

  1. Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Administrative Tools.
  2. Click Data Sources 32 bit (ODBC) to open it.
  3. In the System DSN tab, select ArtiosCAD and click Configuration button.
  4. Under Configuration, make sure that the Name is ArtiosCAD, Description is ArtiosCAD and the Server is computer name or server name\ARTIOSCADEXP2005, in case the database is SQL Express 2005. For SQL Express 2012, the instance name is <servername>\Esko. There is no instance for full databases.
  5. Click Next and select the With SQL Server authentication………by the user option.
  6. Make sure that the Connect to SQL Server is checked.
  7. Enter the Login ID: programmer and Password: use the default password (ID and Password remains same for both SQL Express 2005 and SQL Express 2012).
  8. Click Next.
  9. Check the Change the default database to: and select the ArtiosCADdb option from the drop down list.
  10. The rest of the settings on this window should be as per default settings. Click Next and click Finish.
  11. Click the Test Data Source and the test result should be Successful.

  1. server name\ARTIOSCADEXP2005 --> in case the database is SQL Express 2005.

For full databases, there is no instance.

For SQL Express 2012, the instance name will be 'Esko' --> <servername>\Esko

The default account used for the ODBC connection is:

    user: programmer

    password: oicu812

  2. Anonymous

    Thanks for the changes.

However, I would only mention user 'programmer', not 'sa', ,as for sql 2012, the sa password is 'Oicu812!' and for sql 2005 it is 'oicu812!', so this will create confusion.
Moreover, for odbc connections on clients, its ok with user programmer, no need to use 'sa'.

  3. I agree with Lien Louage and 'Anonymous' (who was also Lien)

  4. I see this article is not updated yet with the remarks. Basanna, Renukumar, can you take care of it?

  5. Hi Lien Louage,

    The article has been updated.
