The following error occurs while trying to access a job in Automation Engine Pilot:

Could not retrieve the list of files. The following system error was returned: BG_ECouldNotGetFileInfo: The system cannot find the file specified.


  1. You will no longer be able to access the files and folders in the job folder.
  2. The job folder will no longer have a blue icon and will look like an ordinary folder.


This error occurs when a job folder is not available in its original location or if it is moved from its original location to another without using the Relocate the job ticket in the Automation Engine.

The location of the job folder when the job was created in Automation Engine is the original job folder location.

The job information in Automation Engine is not updated with the current location of the job folder when it is moved manually. Hence, when the job is accessed the error pops up.


If you wish to have the job folder in the current location:

You need to update the job information in the Automation Engine with the current location of the job.

To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the Automation Engine Pilot > Job Overview (command + 2).
  2. Right click the job and choose Job Setup.
  3. In the Job Setup window, click the Browse button under the Select the job folder where the job’s data will be placed and handled: section.
  4. Browse and select the job folder, click OK.
  5. Click OK in the Job Setup window.
  6. This will open up Relocate the job window, choose the required option and click OK.

If you wish to move the job folder back to its original location:

  • Move the folder back to its original location.
