KB73059548: Licensing - How to return your dongle to Esko and receive permanent license

Description

Since 2008, Esko software is licensed with activation-based licenses. If you have older software that is licensed via dongles and you want to upgrade to the latest version, you need to return your dongles. Upon return of your dongles, we will supply you with final activation-based licenses.

Procedure

1. Initiate the dongle return

1. Create your Esko ID here. You will also need this account to activate your new licenses.

2. Once you have confirmed your Esko ID, log in here.
3. Choose what type of dongle you want to return and continue.

4. Select your region and add the dongle numbers of the dongles you want to return. You can find the dongle number on your physical key.

5. Click Send to submit your request.

2. Install the software and activate your temporary licenses

1. You receive an e-mail with product key files (HTML files) for your temporary licenses and a link to download the new software.
   If you did not receive anything after three business days, please check your spam folder.

2. Download and install the new software (for help on installation, go to help.esko.com).

3. Activate your temporary licenses with the product key files delivered. For help on activation, see this article:

1. You receive an e-mail with product key files for your final licenses
