Symptoms
The input field in the Dynamic Barcodes palette to fill in a code is greyed out. So you are not able to create a new barcode with a certain code.
Solution
This means you do not have an active license for your Dynamic Barcodes for Adobe® Illustrator®.
Verify whether the Dynamic Barcodes is licensed or not via Adobe® Illustrator® > Help menu > Esko > Esko plugins.
You can start a trial, activate a license or configure a network license server containing a Dynamic Barcodes for Adobe® Illustrator® license.
Normally if you don't have a license, you will not be able to open or use a plugin. But Dynamic Barcodes for Adobe® Illustrator® is an exception for the following reasons:
- An unlicensed Dynamic Barcodes for Adobe® Illustrator® will always allow you to create a placeholder for a barcode (dummy codes).
- An unlicensed Dynamic Barcodes for Adobe® Illustrator® will always allow you to open an Adobe® Illustrator® file containing a 'dynamic' barcode created with the plugin.
