Do I need to deactivate the floating FlexNet license before virtualizing the license server?

Yes, even if the host name and IP address remain the same, the license checks other details also . If you don't do this, there is a major risk that ArtiosCAD will not recognize the license any more and therefore, won't start up.

This is the correct procedure to follow:

1. On the physical license server, deactivate the floating FlexNet license and save the Deactivatedkeys.html file on a network drive that will be accessible from the virtualized server.
2. Virtualize the license server.
3. Activate the original license HTML file or the Deactivatedkeys.html file, the content is the same.

ArtiosCAD should now start up without any problem.
