KB87952896: Automation Engine - Cannot view ripped files by clicking the View button in Automation Engine Pilot

Summary

Automation Engine Viewer fails to view TIFF/LEN files generated by Rip. When clicking the View button in Automation Engine Pilot, error pops up with the message “Digital film files can only be viewed if view files are generated and up to date”.

Symptoms

Cannot view TIFF files in Automation Engine Viewer.

Solution

To view files coming from RIPs, the files have to be prepared first.

See below for the procedure to prepare such files for viewing in Automation Engine viewer:

1. Select the files to be viewed and right-click them.
   
   
2. Select Launch with and then click Others. A window containing all tickets will appear.

3. Locate the Prepare for viewer ticket and double-click it.
   

4. Once (Prepared) appears next to the View button, the TIFF file is ready to be viewed.
