Symptoms

File will also fail in a Normalize task as well as a Prepare for View task.

Solution

The reason it is failing is because of the missing fonts.

  • The PDF is a non-Normalized PDF. When you try to View such a file, it is converted behind the scenes using the Normalize ticket that is set in Pilot > Tools > Configure > Viewer > Normalize ticket.
  • The Default setting is the Default Normalize PostScript/ PDF/ AI ticket, which is set to Fail if Font Not Found.
  • You could make a new ticket based on the Default Normalize PostScript/ PDF/ AI ticket and disable the Fail if Font Not Found and choose that one in Configure > Viewer > Normalize ticket.

OR

  • You could have all the fonts include in the .pdf file.

Then the file can be viewed correctly.
