Question

  • How many documents can be added to a single library project?
  • How many documents can be put in one project or folder?

Answer

A general best practice is to use multiple projects to build up your library. You can then display all documents together in a saved search based on a project attribute or another property.

There is a no real hard limit on how many documents there can be in one single project. However, there are some practical considerations:

  • You might need to create a lot of folders to manage the structure.
  • Looking in such a large project can be very unpractical and slow.
  • Project indexing (for search) may take a very long time.
  • Managing access rights is harder.
