The following are the minimum system requirements for ArtiosCAD. Exceeding these requirements will in most cases lead to a performance increase. Running ArtiosCAD on a system that does not meet these requirements is not supported.

| Processor bitness | ArtiosCAD is now a 64-bit application, and can only install and run on a 64-bit processor. Outlook integration ArtiosCAD will then no longer be supported on 32-bit machines nor will it be able to integrate with apps like MS Outlook that may have been installed as 32-bit apps. CAD-X CAD-X will also then be 64-bit. Applications for example, vbscript.exe which can instantiate CAD-X will need to be invoked from the proper location based on being 32 or 64-bit. The API will still be backwards compatible. Solidworks Export Historically, ArtiosCAD provided an export integration with Solidworks 2010 if that solidworks version was already installed on a user system by a previous version of ArtiosCAD. That version was a 32-bit module and will not run in an ArtiosCAD 64-bit version. The ability to create such an output will be removed. Movie formats 3D QuickTime move format will no be supported. I/O Server I/O Server remains 32-bit as to allow previous 32 versions in a network access the I/O server for various devices. 64-bit ArtiosCADs can communicate with a 32-bit I/O Server. ODBC ODBC 64 bit for standard edition databases will now be used.

The graphics card driver must support WDDM 2.0 (which most do) If CAD-X is used in a server environment, the graphics card must still match the above memory requirement. | Minimum screen resolution | 1024 x 768 resolution at 16-bit color depth. 720p 1280x720 FHD 1920x1080 System text scale/zoom size no more than 125%. 150% or higher may be attempted if the display results are satisfactory for the tools used on a regular basis as determined by the customer. Esko makes no representation that zoom levels above 100% will be properly represented on all monitors. For use with an external monitor, the system text zoom/scale size, must be set to the same value for each display/monitor for 3D to render correctly. Windows 7 uses the same size for both monitors whereas Windows 10 allows each monitor to be set separately. QHD/2K, UHD/4K have not been certified. If such resolution is attempted on an external monitor, understand that the system text zoom/scale setting must match for 3D to render properly. Text appearance may not be satisfactory at these resolutions if the recommended system text zoom/scale is not used. | Virtualization | Parallels Desktop or VMware® Fusion® can be used for intel-based macs, but please be aware that Esko hasn't certified all combinations of macOS® and Parallels Desktop/VMware® Fusion® For Silicon Macs with ARM processors, Esko has not certified use with either VM vendor. It will be up the respective VM vendor to ensure the windows-based environment within the VM runs properly within the ARM architecture. Tablets like Surface Pro have not been certified. In many cases, this hardware does not match the minimum required specifications. Screen sizes are also smaller than optimal and compatibility scaling mode needs to be disabled. | |||
Supported Databases
On 64-bit operating systems
ArtiosCAD 20 and higher is certified for use with Microsoft® SQL Server 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014.
ArtiosCAD Standard Edition installs Microsoft® SQL Server 2019 Express 64-bit Edition for new installations.
Windows Server versions
Please check your Windows Server version. SQL Server 2019 can only run on Windows Server 2016 or higher, even though ArtiosCAD itself can run on Windows Server 2012.
A localized SQL Server express 2019 must be installed on the same localized operating system.
For example: a German-language SQL Server 2019 must be installed on a German-language operating system. A German-language SQL Server 2019 cannot be installed on a French operating system.
There are some exceptions to this rule:
- The English-language SQL Server 2019 can be installed on any localized OS.
- A localized SQL Server 2019 can be installed on an English OS, provided the MUI pack has been configured properly.

CAD Server
For standard edition ArtiosCAD servers that will host defaults and/or the database, the server must be properly configured for processor, memory and network speeds based on the number of users that will access that server.
The server must be able to host the database if used.
The server must also be able to be configured for UNC access to the shared defaults folder.
Supported Operating Systems
If an operating system is not listed here, it is not supported. Do not try to install ArtiosCAD on a computer running an unsupported operating system.
Virus scanners
In some cases where an operating system has an active virus scanner or security management system active, installation of software may cause issues.
In that case, stop the virus scanner or de-activate the security management system during the installation, and start it again afterwards.

Windows 10
The minimum Windows 10 OS for ArtiosCAD 22.11 is Falls Creator, Bld 1709.
However, it is best that a system be on the latest Windows 10 update, 21H2.
