Description
The LEN files on the CDI or in the Digital Flexo Suite are rotated. The LEN files are very large and hence the file transfer takes very long.
Note
Automation Engine & Bitmap Viewer show the "design view": as you see it in the editor: scanline direction is horizontal Grapholas Viewer and the other CDI tools show the "plate view": as you see it when mounting the plate on the CDI: scanline direction is around the drum, and thus shown vertically
Procedure to setup the correct LEN file compression
The output needs to be set to Flate compression for LEN file output. If this is not set, the file's size can be very large and the file transfer will take a very long time.
Open the LEN Dispatcher.
Select Esko Server and click the Queue Settings button.
In the Queue Settings window, set the correct compression in the Output section:
When ripping with the Imaging Engine, the output compression needs to be set in the ticket:
Procedure to setup the correct rotation and distortion
For correct display on the CDI, the output needs to be rotated by 270°.
Note
Due to the rotation, the distortion needs to be changed as well. If you want to distort the file in the height, you have to enter the distortion value in the width section – always check the output dimensions.
In the following example a distortion of 5% is used:
Settings without rotation – wrong display on CDI
Settings with 270° rotation – correct display on CDI
"90°
Counter Clockwise
Counterclockwise" in Imaging Engine
In the ticket, the rotation is set to "0" and the distortion of 5% is done in the height:
