Problem

High CPU load in Task Manager but no process with this CPU load is displayed.

Solution

The Circular Kernel Context Logger has no stop condition and in the case of a logging error during startup, this can cause the high CPU load.

Open the Control Panel and follow the instructions given below:

  1. Open System and Security.
  2. Go to Administrative Tools.
  3. Open Performance Monitor.
  4. Go to Startup Event Trace Sessions and double click Circular Kernel Context Logger to open it.
  5. Select the Trace Buffers tab and change the value for the Buffer size to 128.
  6. Go to the Stop Condition tab, enable the Maximum Size checkbox and enter a value of 10.
  7. Click OK and restart the computer.
