When trying to open the Server Admin Utility (Start > Programs > Esko > Automation Engine 14 > Server Admin), the following error appears in the web page:

But the window should appear as:

Symptoms

When attempting to open the Server Admin Utility, the webpage displays the following error:

HTTP Status 404 /server admin/request of resource/

/server admin/not available/ Apache Tomcat/7.05

Solution

The first thing to try is to delete the Java temp files.

  1. Stop the EG Web Server Service.
  2. Remove the files under \Esko\bg_prog_fastserver_v141\tomcat\temp.
  3. Start the EG Web Server Service again.

If after deleting the Java temp files and the problem still appear, try the following:

  1. Stop the EG Web Server Service.
  2. Remove the folder \Esko\bg_prog_fastserver_v141\tomcat\webapps\serveradmin.
  3. Start the EG Web Server Service again.
  4. The folder serveradmin will be recreated.

If even now the problem still appears, run a repair install of your Automation Engine Server software. Please note that you will also need to reinstall all hotfixes you installed so far on your current version of Automation Engine. This procedure will reinstall the Tomcat Service and leave the Automation Engine configuration intact. (No need to restore any backups).
