Summary

When saving an MFG file in to a resource, the following error pops up: "The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value".

Symptoms

Saving an ARD file into a resource works fine. No error pops up. Converting the same file to MFG and saving gives the above mentioned error.

The database is accessible. Probably the operating system language is other than English.

Changing the short data format for Regional and Language settings in Windows did not help.

Solution

  1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Data Sources (32 bit)* > System DSN and select ArtiosCAD.
  2. Go to Configure and type the following credentials: user programmer, password from Esko Support (for the default) or your IT department.
  3. Click Next until you see this screen:
  4. Probably the language in Change the language of SQL Server System messages to check box is set to the language of your operating system, for ex. Italian.
  5. Click to select the Change the language of SQL Server System messages to check box and select English from the drop-down list.
  6. Click Finish and try again.

You should now be able to save MFG files into a resource without any error.
