A PDF file contains layers and some of them are not printable. The intention is to make all layers printable with the Optimize PDF Document Ticket.
Symptoms
It happens randomly with certain PDF files that enabling the Make all layers printable option in the ticket has no effect. The layers remain non-printable.
Solution
The root cause is because these documents have no OCG's (Optional Content Groups).
Example: The file can contain "Illustrator Layers", which is a construct from ancient Adobe® Illustrator® versions and this construct is not supported by Esko tools. These files can be opened in a tool that supports those constructs (e.g.: an ancient version of Adobe® Illustrator®) and export the file to a PDF version that supports OCG constructs.
Additionally, checking the PDF in Adobe® Acrobat®, there are no layers defined.
