The License Manager on Mac OS does not start up and gives the following error "An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair".
Symptoms
The software cannot launch.
The License Manager does not startup and gives an error "An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair".
After installing the Esko Network License Manager on Mac, when you launch the Esko Network License Manager or Esko Local License Manager, the following error message appears: "An error occurred during activation/deactivation/repair."
Solution
One possible reason for this error is that some licensing system file permissions are broken. This can happen after a software crash, during an unexpected Mac OS system reboot, returning from sleep mode, or others.
You can choose two possible solutions:
Install or reinstall the Esko Local License Manager (of the same version) or
Fix the broken file permissions manually.
Method 1:
If you install or reinstall the Esko Local License Manager (not the Esko Network License Manager), the installer will fix the broken file permissions.
Note
You may have to reboot the computer, have the fix set.
If you cannot install or reinstall the Esko Local License Manager, you can execute the manual steps as explained below.
Method 2:
In a Mac OS terminal prompt,
Enter the command:
ls –la "/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/Service/11.12.1/FNPLicensingService"
