Below is a list of supported devices.

Terminology

  • Contract proofing refers to a proof, made on quality proofing paper, intended for judgment of color as well as correctness of content. A contract proof is measurably accurate with a spectrophotometer.
  • Dot proofing refers to a proof which shows a simulation of the halftone screen as well as a simulation of the color. The color is less accurate than contract proofing.
  • Mockup proofing refers to a proof made on the same media that will be used for the production package or label (or a media that closely matches the production media). The purpose of the mockup is to show a prototype of the production package or label. This is very realistic but not suitable for making fine color judgement or measurement.
  • Content proofing refers to a proof intended for checking correctness of content only (no judgement of color).

You will find information on supported devices by following the link. In order that we can provide good support for color accurate proofing, only specified devices are supported.

Follow the link mockup proofing for more information on this topic. Printing devices used for this application typically work with solvent based inks (rather than the water based inks normally used for contract proofing). The different type of ink allows the mockup to be made on a wider variety of media, for example films/foils or carton board, that match or closely resemble the production media. Color accuracy and gamut in this kind of application is good, but may not match the very high standards expected for contract proofing. Customers are advised to use such a printer only for mockups. For contract proofing, use a different device that is suitable for that purpose.
