KB170036740: License Client Configuration - "FLEXnet Client Configuration - ERROR... A fatal error occured during adaptation of the registry"

Summary

Running the License Client Configuration application to edit Computer name of License Server and receive an error:

"FLEXnet Client Configuration - ERROR... A fatal error occured during adaptation of the registry".

Symptoms

1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Esko > Network License Manager > Network License Manager.
2. Click the Tools tab > License Client Configuration.
3. When editing the Computer name of License Server you may receive an error like this:
   

Solution

Start the Network License Manager application as administrative account or by way of Run As Administrator. Make the change and Apply. Computer name of License server is applied successfully.
