Summary

Flexo - Plate Merger: Automatic merging may in specific circumstances not propose the best possible layout.

Symptoms

For a merge queue configured with a minimum fill of 90%., when specific files arrive at the queue, the auto-merge doesn't find a suitable result (layout proposals have around 20% of waste).
When trying a manual merge using Plate Prep however, it appears possible for the same set of files to reach less than 10% waste.
