Summary

How to turn off the To Do view for a user based on the role (whether the user is an administrator or a non-administrator).

Solution

The general To Do view can be turned off per user. To turn off, do the following:

You must log on as an administrator.

  1. In the Pilot, go to Tools > Users. This opens the Users window.
  2. Double-click a user to open the Properties window for that user.
  3. Go to the Views tab, clear the To Do List check box to switch off the To Do List view for that user.

You can also setup the views assigned to users from the Pilot's Views pane:

  1. Right click the Views pane and choose Select Views...

  2. The Properties window opens, showing the Views available for the user currently logged on. Select or deselect views as necessary.

Administrators can also copy the view settings of a user to one or several other users:

  1. Select the user you want to copy the settings from, and go to View > Copy Views (or click right that user and select Copy Views).
  2. Select the user you want to give the settings to, and go to View > Paste Views (or click right that user and select Paste Views).

Users without administrator rights can only remove some of the available views for themselves. They cannot add a view that the administrator has disabled, or change views for another user.

When a user changes his own view preferences, Automation Engine will automatically refresh after the Users window is closed.
