During the installation of the CAD-X plugin (via the Automation Engine Prerequisites or the PackEdge/ Plato installation) some users might run into the following errors:

"Esko ArtiosCAD Setup failed"

"Error 1155 occurred during installation"

"Error 1603 occurred during installation"

The main solution:

  1. Copy the entire .iso file to your local machine and try again.
    1. Avoid mounting an .iso file located on a network share.
    2. Avoid copying package content from the DVD onto your local machine.
  2. Disable your Antivirus software (if applicable) and rerun the installation with an administrative account.
  3. Lower the Windows security level for your administrative user with which you are trying to perform the installation.

When the solutions provided above does not work :

  1. There might be a problem with the InstallShield Scripting engine. On the DVD, browse to Packages\cadx_vxxx\dat\ArtiosCAD_vxxx.
  2. Look for ISScript11.msi. Open the .msi file to reinstall the engine. Try to reinstall the CAD-X plugin.
  3. Clean out the currently installed ISScript engine. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\11\Intel 32. Delete or move the content to the Desktop. Try to reinstall the CAD-X plugin.
