Question

When you open the settings of an Apply ArtPro Action List task in the Automation Engine Pilot, you see some values for the Public Parameters in the ArtPro Action List. When you select another ArtPro Action List in from the drop-down menu, the values change. When you select the original ArtPro Action List again, it does not return the values which you saw when you opened the task's settings. Why does this happen? How to get the original value from the task's settings again?

Answer

This is known behavior when editing the settings of the Apply ArtPro Action List task. It is not considered to be a bug.

  1. When you select an ArtPro Action List, the Apply ArtPro Action List task reads all the Public Parameters which are defined in the ArtPro Action List. It shows the values which are saved inside the ArtPro Action List.
  2. The Pilot user interface allows you to then change the Public Parameter fields to values which are appropriate for your workflow. This saves the value inside the Apply ArtPro Action List task, but not the value in the ArtPro Action List itself.
  3. When you save, close and reopen the task's settings, it will show the values which you defined on your last edit.
  4. If you then select another ArtPro Action List from the drop-down menu, the user interface will load the values which are saved inside the ArtPro Action List. It does not remember the value which was saved in the task's settings.
  5. If you then select the original ArtPro Action List again, the user interface will again read the value which is saved in the ArtPro Action List itself.

If you want to get the originally shown values again, you should close the settings menu by clicking on the Cancel button, so that it doesn't save the changed settings.

In case you already changed the settings and then clicked on the OK button:

  • If you have exported the workflow ticket, before you made the changes, you can restore that workflow ticket.
  • Otherwise, you need to know which value you want to use and enter it again.
