Unable to use Central Resources from Automation Engine after domain name change by IT department, the art department was moved to a different domain. The following error appears:
Symptoms
Pilot does open without errors. The Editors do not have access to the central resources.
The Editor is launched, but it shows that it is using the local central resources. If you try to browse to the Automation Engine Server, you get the following error:
\\backstagesvr is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The user name could not be found.
Solution
Remove the stored credentials by following the steps given below:
On the editor PC, go to Control Panel > Credential Manager.
View the Windows Credentials for the Automation Engine PC, this example shows BACKSTAGESVR with IP address of 192.168.32.242.
You may only see the PC name or IP address.
Remove the Windows Credentials for both IP address and the PC name. Click the arrow to open the Windows credenitals and then click Remove from vault.
Once this is done Authenticate with the Automation Engine Server.
To Authenticate:
On the PC with PackEdge/Plato, click on the Windows Start button.
In the search field type: \\PCname (replace with your Automation Engine Server name).
If you are asked for a username and password, you can use a known user for the Automation Engine PC. example - bgsystem.
Make sure to check the Remember password option.
If this user's password changes every month, then you will need to authenticate after password change.
