Question

Is it possible to create a SmartMark using an ink that is not in the file?

Answer

You can do this using Create If Not Present option in the Inks tab in the SmartMark.

  1. Create a new file in Plato or PackEdge.
  2. Add the desired ink under paint/inks.
  3. Go to the Production menu and click SmartMarks.
  4. Add the desired mark and go to the Inks tab.
  5. Select custom inks and select inks by name.
  6. Turn on the ink by selecting the checkbox on to the left.
  7. Check the Create If Not Present checkbox.
  8. Click Apply and Save Mark set.
