Summary

Text size in the output ACM file is rescaled to a very small size.

Symptoms

When outputting an ARD file that contains text to a sample output for example for corrugated, the text is not visible or very small because the font size is not retained.

The result can be previewed via X - Guide / iPC. It is not even necessary to send the file to the table.

Workaround

Some X-Guide Software cannot handle the fonts in a correct way and rescales the text to a wrong size. The default option is Plotter font. In most cases this works fine. But some tables don't manage to interpret the size correctly. In such cases Line Text is a better option.

  1. In ArtiosCAD, go to Options > Defaults > Outputs.
  2. Select the concerned output and click the Sample Line Types tab.
  3. Be sure that Line type Text is linked to a pen tool, for ex. sample pen 1.
  4. In the Text options, instead of the default 'Plotter font', select Line text. This way, the original font size will be retained.
  5. Save the changes in your Defaults.

Note

An incorrect modification of values and parameters in the ArtiosCAD Defaults can cause critical problems that might lead to severe problems in the correct functioning of the program. Esko cannot guarantee the proper working of your ArtiosCAD installation due to an incorrect handling of parameters and settings. A reinstall might be mandatory in order to restore the original system state. For this reason, Esko recommends that you take regular backups of the ServerLib (Shared Defaults) folder, the database and the FileStore.

Please contact your local Esko Support team in case you need more advice related to backups.
