How to get / calculate the total rule length of a certain subtype in a report?

Procedure

In case you want to distinguish between the rule length of several cut lines, for example for the cut out windows of a box, you can link the same main line type (cut line, which is line type 1) to a subtype.

This way, the outline is still of the same main type (cut) but the advantage is that you can make calculations for report purposes based on subtype.

The formula to use in the report template:

RULELEN("GENTYPE x, SUBTYPE yy")

where x is the main line type number and yy is the subtype line number.

Subtypes are managed via Options > Defaults > Subtype Mapping Catalog.
