Summary

Starting from WebCenter 16.0, it is possible to show metadata (ROMD) information in the Search Results.

Displaying these columns however will have a performance impact. You will most likely notice this when exporting the Search Results to Excel.

Symptoms

Exporting to Excel takes a lot longer for a certain Saved Searches even though they have the same amount of results.

Solution

This is a known limitation. Displaying ROMD columns have performance impact on export to Excel.

Workaround

If you want to get results faster you can either:

  • remove metadata columns before exporting to Excel.
  • filter down the Search Results first so that there are not as many results.
  • try to make access to the FileStore faster.
