Trying to open files that are expected to be supported, gives errors:
There was an error opening the file: /folder/filename.ext
The selected file cannot be opened, probably because it is an unsupported file format. The currently supported file formats are PDF, AI files saved with PDF compatibility, PSD, JPEG, TIFF and PNG.
i-cut Preflight 16.0 is not compatible with the most recent filesystem named APFS. The System Requirement Page has been updated with this specific information.
i-cut Preflight 16.0 is only supported on HFS+. Reading and writing local or from other APFS-systems are not supported.
Workaround
You can store your i-cut Preflight production files on another drive that is not APFS.
If you do not have another drive, you could resize the main (APFS) partition and then add a second HFS+ partition that will be used to store the i-cut Preflight production files (PDFs).
You can use Disk Utility to erase an APFS-formatted volume and reformat as HFS+. However, your data will not be preserved when you reformat the volume as HFS+.
Please refer to your IT department or IT supplier for the actions suggested above. Esko is not entitled to perform these kinds of actions on your system.
Solution
i-cut Preflight 16.0.1 has been released in January 2019 and is compatible with the APFS file system.
