Description

In FlexRip it was possible to merge two or more inks in an input job, so that all the objects on the merged inks would be output from the rip on the same separation.

In an Imaging Engine workflow, this function is no longer part of the rip, but is undertaken by the PDF Action Lists, which require the Apply PDF Action List task to work. This extra functionality has been included with Automation Engine 18.0.1.

The license for the Apply PDF Action List task was previously not included with the licenses needed for Imaging Engine Pilot, but since users of Imaging Engine Pilot will need to use the Apply PDF Action List task in order to merge inks in their jobs, a new set of licenses has been prepared for Imaging Engine Pilot which contains a license for the Apply PDF Action List task. The new licenses will be available for use with Imaging Engine Pilot 18.0.1 and later.

Using this document, the Imaging Engine Pilot users can apply the new licenses so that the Apply PDF Action List task will be available.

Procedure

You will need to use an updated Imaging Engine Pilot license to gain access to the Apply PDF Action List task.

The procedure is only needed if you are currently running Imaging Engine Pilot 18.0.0 or have upgraded to 18.0.1 from 18.0.0.

For information on how to merge inks using PDF Action Lists, please read,
