Question

One can choose between two types of PressSync Curve Fit options. Which one is the best choice?

Answer

PressSync Curve Fit is a curve fit behavior applied when calculating a PressSync compensation curve. Standard takes into account measurement outliers (could be a measurement error or related to the press instability) while Robust ignores them. Robust is the default choice and recommended when measuring charts while Standard is the recommended choice when measuring strips.

In the below screenshots you can see the different behavior in action in Curve Pilot. The PressSync compensation curve (in red) is in case of the Standard Curve Fit behavior taking into account the outlier while that is not the case for the Robust Curve Fit.
