Description

Whether a job can be printed with Equinox or not depends on the color accuracy (dE value) of the converted spot color.
Color Pilot can create a report giving an overview of the dE values for a certain ink book such as the PANTONE+ Solid Coated.
Such a report can be used by the Order department to decide whether to print a job with the Equinox ink set or not.

Procedure

First method:

  1. Open the Color Pilot 16.x
  2. Select the Equinox color strategy in the Color Strategies library
  3. Right click and select Gamut Check
  4. Click the cogwheel icon below the Conversion Table
  5. Select Add all inks from an ink book.
  6. Click the cogwheel icon again and choose Save Report...
  7. This will create a text file.

Second method:

  1. Open the Color Pilot 16.x
  2. Select the Equinox color strategy in the Color Strategies library
  3. Open the Equinox color strategy
  4. Go to the Convert Spot Colors tab
  5. Click the cogwheel icon and choose Add Ink Book...
  6. Select an ink book and click Select
  7. Click the cogwheel icon again and select Save CSV Report...
  8. This will create a CSV file.

Both file types give an overview of the dE values. Depending on what you would like to do with the data, you can choose between using the txt or csv file format.
