If you're using Esko software on a subscription basis, you need to regularly connect to the Esko activation server to update your subscription and make sure you can continue working. These checks are handled by the Esko Subscription Service. In case the Esko Subscription Service is not running or is not available on your computer, your subscription will expire.

In some cases, this Esko Subscription Service can become unresponsive, for example when upgrading to a new Operating System.


  1. When launching your application, you get a warning that your Esko Subscription Service is missing or malfunctioning.
  2. Randomly losing connection to subscription license(s) and must sign-in again, happens several times a day. In the case of DeskPack plug-ins, Adobe® Illustrator® must be restarted to sign back in.


Reboot your system. If this does not resolve the issue, follow the "Solution" steps.


  1. Download the latest version of the Local License Manager from
  2. Uninstall the Local License Manager
  3. Reinstall the Local License Manager
