How to change the language of an Automation Engine Pilot from its default English language?
The language used in the Pilot is defined by the regional settings of the user on that client computer. You can however change this language without changing these regional settings.
Depending on the version of Automation Engine and on the client's OS, you can do this by changing the Pilot's desktop shortcut or by changing a properties file:
Add one of below lines after ...\bin\javaw.exe
-Duser.language=en -Duser.region=US (for English)
-Duser.language=de -Duser.region=DE (for German)
-Duser.language=es -Duser.region=SP (for Spanish)
-Duser.language=fr -Duser.region=FR (for French)
-Duser.language=it -Duser.region=IT (for Italian)
-Duser.language=ja -Duser.region=JP (for Japanese)
-Duser.language=zh -Duser.region=CN (for Chinese)
Click 'OK' to save this change
Example for a Pilot in German
C:\Esko\bg_prog_fastservercltnt_v121\jre\bin\javaw.exe -Duser.language=de -Duser.region=DE -Xmx512m -Dbg.properties="C:\Esko\bg_data_fastservercltnt_v100\bg.properties" -jar "C:\Esko\bg_prog_fastservercltnt_v121\classes\pilot2.jar"
For Automation Engine 12.0.x, the bg.properties file is located here: %userprofile%\Esko
For Automation Engine 12.1 and newer, the bg.properties file is located here: \Esko\bg_data_fastservercltnt_v100
Open this properties file in a text editor (like Notepad++) and add the line shown in the example below, corresponding to your target language:
user.language = de
user.region = GE
