You can configure the Automation Engine to automatically send an email notification every time a workflow ends with errors. This can be done with the aid of the Notification component in the Automation Engine.


Proceed as follows:

  1. In the Automation Engine Pilot > Tools > Configure.
  2. Expand Notification and click Rules.
  3. Click Workflow and click the + button in Mac and Add in Windows.
  4. In the Condition section of the Notification Rule Editor, choose Task is finished option in the If: drop down menu and check the with errors. checkbox.
  5. In the Action section of the Notification Rule Editor,
    1. Choose the Send an email to the Task Owner option in the Then: drop down menu to send an email to the task owner.
    2. Or choose the Send an e-mail option to specify the email id to send the email.
  6. Choose an existing template in the Template: drop down menu or create a new email template by clicking the Edit templates... button.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Save and close the Configure window.
  9. Open the Workflow ticket.

Now, if a workflow ends with errors, an email will be sent according to the notification rule defined.
