KB76719455: Studio Toolkit for Flexibles - The application hangs or is very slow on Mac OS X 10.7 or 10.8

Summary

Studio Toolkit for Flexibles 10.1 and older versions are running extremely slow and/or seems to hang.

Symptoms

When starting the standalone Studio Toolkit for Flexibles application, the Welcome screen will appear and selecting one of the available bag types will make the application hang or only show the wizard dialog after several minutes.

This behavior can occur on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion) when either no Java was installed yet or when Oracle's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 7 update 40 is installed.

Solution

Download the latest Java fix from Apple's website to overcome the slow behavior or hang-ups:

If you've previously installed the above Java version, you can install a new update for both Java 1.6 and Java 1.7 from the html page above.
