For which products can you use newer licenses to start up older versions of the software?

Answer

The table below gives an overview of all product versions with FlexNet licenses. Dongle-based versions are not included.

ArtiosCAD (including ArtiosCAD Standard, Enterprise, 123Box and AdvantageCAD)does not enable older versions, from version 14.1 onwards will enable all older versionsDuring an upgrade, the license for the newer version is added to the existing licenses. So existing customers can start up older versions (as of version 7.6 in FlexNet). From version 14.1 onwards the license for the version is included in the base license together with the licenses of all previous versions.
ArtProenables older versions
  • Before ArtPro 10.1.3, a newer license did not enable older versions.
  • ArtPro 10.1.3 is the first version that can be used with a newer license.
Automation Engineenables older versions
  • BackStage is not enabled.
  • Imaging Engine (Powered by Adobe®) is an option on top of Automation Engine, so also enables older versions (in contrast with FlexRip/FlexProof)
Color Engine Pilot does not enable older versionsDuring an upgrade, the license for the older version is replaced by the license for the newer version. So existing customers cannot start up older versions after an upgrade.
DeskPack for Illustrator®enables older versions

With Suite 14 we introduced bundled licenses (DeskPack Essentials, DeskPack Advanced) next to licenses for individual plug-ins, those bundled licenses do not enable older versions.
