Question

Why does my HD Flexo Screens application show that I have no licenses available even when I have several licenses installed?


Answer

This warning pops up when you start HD Flexo and when you have installed HD Flexo Screens for too many different plates.

To use HD Flexo Screens, you need a HD Flexo license (a versioned license) and a number of HD Flexo plate licenses (a counted license). The number of HD Flexo plate licenses limits the number of screens that you can install for different plates.

For instance when you have three HD Flexo plate licenses, you can install HD Flexo Screens for a maximum of three different plates.

How to solve

  • If your environment demands HD Flexo Screens for more plates, you should purchase extra HD Flexo plate licenses. Contact Esko.
  • If you don't use a specific plate anymore, remove all installed HD Flexo Screens for that plate in the HD Flexo application and restart HD Flexo.

Limits on the number of installed HD Flexo Screens

For one specific plate, a user can install many different HD Flexo Screens without consuming extra HD Flexo plate licenses. However, the total number of HD Flexo Screens that can be installed is limited.

This limit depends on the FlexRip and HD Flexo version that is installed:

  • For FlexRip/HD Flexo version prior to 12.0, the maximum number of HD Flexo Screens that can be installed is 32.
  • For FlexRip/HD Flexo version 12.x, the maximum number of HD Flexo Screens that can be installed is 99.
  • For I(maging)E(ngine)/HD Flexo version 14.0 or later, the maximum limit will be increased further to 999.
