Summary

Installing or updating PackEdge 12.1.1 gives the following error message:

Checking Windows version ...

Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (build 7601) 'c:\Users\prepress\Desktop\PackEdge' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

'Plato' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

ERROR - Fatal error occurred during determination

of the Windows operating system version.

The installation will be aborted.

Click 'Continue' to quit the installer.

Symptoms

Error occurs during the upgrade of PackEdge 12.1.1

Solution

On the Interactive Applications for PC DVD, browse to the Packages folder located in: PackEdge 12.1 and Plato 12.1.1\Packages\PackEdge-Plato_Installer_12.1\Packages\packedge_v121. Installing via the Packages folder does not check the Operating System version.
