Cause
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is not activated on Windows Server 2012.
By default, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is not always installed/activated on Windows Server 2012.
Solution
Activate Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows Server 2012.
To activate, perform the following steps:
- Start the Server Manager.
- In Server Manager, click Manage and then select Add Roles and Features to start the Add Roles and Features Wizard.
- In the Select features screen, check the box next to .Net Framework 3.5 Features.

This might fail, if the Windows installation media is not found.
The .iso of the Windows Server 2012 must be available to install the Framework .
