When trying to start the FLEXlm License Manager service, the service can not be started and the following error message appears:

Windows could not start the FLEXlm License Manager service on Local Computer.
Error 1067:  The process terminated unexpectedly.


When trying to start the FLEXlm License Manager service, the following error appears:

Even after the System Controller is uninstalled and installed again, the FLEXlm License Manager service will not start.


Use the License Server Administration tool to correct the network license files. Perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Esko > Network License Manager > Network License Manager.
  2. Click the Tools tab > License Server Administration.
  3. Click the Handle license files tab. Click the Remove the Barco based license file radio button.
  4. Click Execute.
  5. Click Remove the Esko based license file.
  6. Click the Execute button.
  7. Click the Exit button.
  8. The license server should now start without any error.


In previous versions, the steps 1 and 2 were a bit different:

  1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Esko > System Controller > Tools  > License Server Administration.

  1. Also during installation (updating) the Esko Network License Manager, at the end the FLEXlm License Manager Service is started.

    If the service cannot be started, System Error 1067 can occur.

    Uninstalling Esko Network License Manager and then installing Esko Network License Manager again solved this issue.

  2. After removing the licenses, i reinstalled the Network License Manager from the DVD and it fixed the issue.
