How can you see and/or edit the properties of a Dynamic Mark set?
Procedure
To see and/or edit the properties of a Dynamic Marks set, you need the Adobe® Illustrator® File (.ai) of the saved Dynamic Marks. By default Mark Sets are saved as .AI files in the Users/Shared/EskoArtwork/Marks directory. If you copy a Mark set (Illustrator file) coming from a different system, into this folder, you will have it available in the Dynamic Marks plugin to load in a document. This will allow you to edit and resave the Mark set.
The Dynamic Marks sets can also be exported to .dmk files for use on Automation Engine. You can no longer edit these .dmk files. You cannot see the Marks' properties when you open the .dmk file.
The original .ai file can have a different name than the exported .dmk file in your Marks folder, because you can edit and / or rename the .ai file after you exported the .dmk file.
When you export an Automation Engine 12.2.0 (or newer) workflow, where Dynamic Marks sets are used, the exported .zip file will only contain the .dmk files. The Automation Engine Pilot does not export the .ai files along.
Make sure that you always keep a copy of the original .ai file from which you exported your Dynamic Marks sets. Keep file names of the .ai and .dmk files as much as possible synchronized, in case you ever want to check the settings of your Dynamic Marks again.
If you need Esko's support to investigate a problem with your Dynamic Marks set, always send both the .ai and .dmk files to your support contact.
